Sanctioning the cop who murdered Mike Brown is far less important than dismantling the prison industrial complex.
Brown was killed by an individual cop, but also by a system that terrorizes and devours black people (especially young black men). There will be no peace, no justice, and no end to state violence until we find a way to dismantle and bury the prison industrial complex. It is one of the great crimes of my generation. We have to end it.
